I will say yes to all
good things that come my way.
15 years ago, at 22 years old, I was working in a snowball stand. If you’re from anywhere other than the south, think Sno-Cone. It was my snowball stand, but a snowball stand just the same. Having already been married for two years, and having walked out of a “good” job that kept me in a constant state of anxiety, I had opened the stand to make a little money before I could figure out my next move career-wise.
Last year in January I joined the gym. For the first time in my life I decided to really get serious about living my best life as far as my health is concerned. While I had spent a few years prior learning about nutrition and hormones and all those other ‘best health of my life’ things (that I will definitely explore later on in this blogging adventure,) regular exercise was the missing piece. If you see me running, you better run too because something is chasing me. I’m sure you’ve heard that joke before. That was one of my favorites. If you saw me exerting energy that would elevate my heart rate in public something was going down.
B.B. (my dear husband) and I were talking about the blog project last night- where I see it going, what I hope to accomplish etc. etc. and he was like “Ok, what’s with the name? Why ‘She-comma-confident?’ What does that mean?”
to read as “She Confident” like in the “Yeah GIRL she has a LOT of confidence-
SHE CON-FI-DENT!” (I hope you read that with the same tone in your head as I
did when I typed it.) That’s a really good statement and while it would make a
great blog title, that’s not really what I mean.
I’m a constant work in progress, but I’m making progress. Through lots of trial and error, heartaches and overcoming, trying and failing and trying again- I’m becoming more and more confident in who I am and why I’m here.
I’m starting this blog as a place to share the things I’ve learned in my quest for health, wealth, and happiness.
Here’s a random list of things you’ll probably find here on She, Confident-
Recipes and meal ideas for keeping it clean and healthy on a busy schedule
Book reviews and recommendations
Real life stories about health issues many women face but few attempt to conquer
Things I’ve learned running a successful sales business for the last 15 years
Seriously I really don’t know- if you know me at all you know there’s really no telling what I’ll end up saying….
I believe a lot of dreams die when we choke on our own voices. I want to take the words from my heart and get them out into the world, and this seems like a good place to get started.
